Doing all the things Tuesday

Oh, how exciting a new, or renewed, journey can be! We've talked about it. We've procrastinated. We've made excuses. We've overslept, and laid on the couch.

We. Are. Ready.

It's yoga time!

See how far I have fallen. Watch how far I will rise.

Flexibility is at an all time low. This is good though, it works as motivation. I'm teaming up with Yoga by Candace on her 31 day challenge. I've restarted the November challenge she issued, but she is starting a new challenge per her Instagram today. Eep! I chose Ardha Baddha Paschimottanasana, or, half bound lotus west extension for us Okies.

This is how I should look, and at one time, I did. Journey. It's a journey.

Hop over to her Instagram, YouTube, or website to check it out for yourself. I'm in no way affiliated, just motivated and inspired. That's why I'm here, to share mine and help yours.
Last night was double date night! We went with a couple that he knows semi-well, and I was excited to get to know better. How do adults get to know one another? Well, burgers, fries, and laser tag, DUH! I lasered so many kids.... It was a laser-cre. Mwahahaha!

Jalapeno baja burger and rosemaryEVOO fries from SmashBurger gave us fuel, and we later wound down with a few arcade games and free soda at the casino. Ya know, adults have to be thrifty too.

the Limited provided a nice sweater selection this year. Today's wearable is my new fave. I have stayed away from long, free-flowing shirts for a while, as I feel they make me look overweight and/or preggo. Meh, I've stopped caring about that idea. Mmmmm....asymmetrical buttons, so wonderful.

Santa (aka, runningCurl) made a splash with my family this year. All the nieces and the one nephew (of my OK fam) got many, many autie gifts. A few other select members received tokens of my thoughts.

Splash is accurate. Did you see how much rain NEOK got? When they say 'take the high road' they really mean it around there.

I found this lavender infused soda at Eatzies. Um...yes please. More!!

Accurate weather map for NEOK on Dec 26 - 27. 78 degrees, then a few tornadoes, flooding, 40 degrees with 60mph wind, then 26 degrees with sleet, and finally, 2 earthquakes on Tuesday. Some people really do have it all.....

Tradition? Schmadrition.

It's Thursday, who's wearing khakis???? NOT ME!!!!

Black skirt, black tights, black shooties....looooooong jacket. Yeah.

Haha! I know Prell got that.

I have a monster bruise on my leg, so no bare skin today. That doesn't mean I couldn't wear long khakis, but I've grown tired of the few I have.

Today at lunch I discovered a package on my front porch. What is it?!

(drumroll please......................)

I know....I'm turning into one of 'those' people. But, think about it. I've tried a bunch of new things in 2015, just for fun. I didn't continue Blue Apron, but I did try it. I've tried new foods, but didn't necessarily keep eating them. I've tried new fitness options, but may have backslid to my old ways. I Hulu and Netflix instead of DishNetwork. I even bought a tablet, but I only use it for blogging and movies. I'm trying to try things, but that doesn't mean I'm staying on the bandwagon.

I didn't open it yet, because I love anticipation. Tonight we'll see what my 'stylist' sent me, and I'll have a report for you soon.

In the mean time, we're hoping for above freezing temps in the morning so I can walk at the track.
I'm hoping for good luck on my crochet and craft projects tonight.

Also, prayer is so powerful. I know you know that, and you know I know that, but we all know that we forget. When we really believe in our heart that we are talking directly to God, He hears it, and if it is part of His plan for us, He'll deliver. If He says yes it's a yes, and if He says no it's a yes. We just have to believe.

Straighten up and fall right

Happy Wed-uh-nes-day to you.

I overslept, again, and didn't accomplish any predawn physical activity. Sorry neighbor! I left you stranded in the driveway at 5am!

I made it back to the chiropractor today since my lower back has been agonizing. I hadn't been since just before Thanksgiving and I could tell. While there I got my necklace caught on the table and broke it (but fixed it), cried because the bad, bad pain felt really good at the same time, and then I fell off of the sidewalk on my way to my truck. Good thing I have another appointment scheduled...

129 days until the OKC Run to Remember! What am I going to do? I have a sore ankle now, no discipline, and less enthusiasm than a proctology intern.

Remember this? 30 minutes before the start of the 2015 OKC Marathon. I can't wait to get back there!

Thankfully Christmas is almost here. I'm about worn out on plans for that, but presents are always fun! Did you buy my yoga mat yet? There's still time!

I need to finish work for the day so that I can head home to make chili.

Things I need to do:

Read my bible
Finish crochet and paint pen projects
Stop falling (except in love) ((I know....gross))

Look at that, I put 'run' last. I guess we know how I really feel about it. Obviously blogging is a science and gives us a clear picture of what's really in our minds and hearts. It's science, people.

Crochet Tuesday and ...things?

How long has it been since I did girls night with M? I don't remember either! Tonight is old fashioned, throwback, doin' it up, ladies night. You know what that means....tacos and complaining in sweatpants!!!

Actually, I'll be working on some Christmas crochet projects while she vents/updates me on life on Pine Street.

Here is one project I'll be making:
You can check out the creators post and pattern here on Little Monkeys Crochet.

I have high hopes for a good result. You know I always do, and then it doesn't, and then I just give up. At least I'm consistent.

No, I didn't work out. No, I didn't run. No, I didn't yoga.

Oh! Yoga! Hey blog-fans. If you needed a last minute idea for Christmas, for me, and you have money to blow, here is what I want.
Go here and buy one now! Please? You can ship it straight to my office and I promise to upload a picture of me using it. Ok...at least standing on it.

The traditional magic carpet yoga mat. They are $45-$98, but they are soooooo sweet. If 98 of you get together this could be totally doable. Think about it!

Also, if you want to cut costs and get something less useful but just as rad, you can get me this:
I have a Galaxy S4, so make sure you get the right one. Super cool, just like me and you! Land ho!

Ok, I'm not full of information today. Work, Christmas shopping with the beardface, too much food, and not enough sleep.

Let's regroup tomorrow, eh?

Hello there! I got my google photos to sync again! It's been over a month since I was last here with you, and longer than that since I had functioning sync. It's a bit sad how reliant we are on technology.

Let's get it out of the way: I'm sorry.

Ok, now, that we are super friends again, I want to get you up to speed. Unfortunately I don't have pictures for EVERY exciting moment of the past 4-6 weeks, but I do have a lot.

Let's see what I've been up to!

I'm sticking by my belief that this is a positive thought. It really could turn the other way quickly.

In November our Leadership group toured 5 of the largest employers in our area, aside from the hospital. My favorite was Cardinal Glass. I faced my fear and walked along side a 1/4 mile length piece of continually moving glass.

It starts as sand, then in 3000 degree temps becomes a blob that eventually becomes the most terrifying, scary, bad, bad thing: Glass.

I went hunting early one Saturday. Rain, wind, 34 degrees. All smiles! Note, don't go hunting in glasses; it's difficult to see through the binoculars.

You wouldn't know it from our 68+ temps over the past few days, but, we did get our first frost already. This was a few weeks back.

I tore the remains of Co-garden out of the ground. After the sun pattern changed and the frost came, all hope was lost. The yard has become a yard again, and the cages are headed to storage.

Fear not. Plans are already in the works for CG2K16. We will replant. We will reproduce. We will grow again!
A most excellent friend shared a beautiful piece of cake with us one evening. Cake AND flowers? I may be tough now and then, but this girl is a girl to the core. Yes, please!

There was a wedding where he looked dangerous...

And a Christmas party where I looked weird...

And a church service where they just melted my heart....

And a photobooth fail by the Prell and I...

And a random stranger mistook the dude for this guy. I think it's pretty spot-on.

Running? What is this activity you speak of? Well.....see, what had happened was.....

Yeah, yeah. My friend Pam just finished her 365 days of running, and as much of an inspiration as she is, I just haven't gotten back to it. I've visited the gym a few times, kept up my walking, and have jogged a few blocks.

OKC Run to Remember is only 131 days away. If I'm going to survive the full marathon, or crush it in the half, I MUST get moving.

Any words of encouragement?

Monday, November 09, 2015

Hello everyone! I sure hope you had a great weekend, I know I did! Let's start this M-ugh-nday off with a bang, ok?!

1st: You're going to get a dose of  'Doing all the things' Tuesday tomorrow, so get on the edge of your seat. ...on second thought, don't do that. You'd be there for about 24 hours and that's really bad for your lower back.

2nd: It was cold this weekend, and I'm here to admit that I didn't want to die. I know, right?

3rd: I had a free doughnut today. Don't look at me like that.

4th: I've been marathon-ing. New Girl, Parks and Rec (again), Scrubs, SNL, and Brooklyn 99. What? You thought I meant running?! Hahaha! Check out point #2 again for the reason I'm not running. Duh.

5th: Soooo many things coming up. Remember when I posted way back in March about the list of fun things coming up? This is round 2! From now through 1/2/16 I have something on the calendar every weekend! I'll start naming names as they come closer, but tomorrow you get a sneak peak at the first item.

6th: I read a page of a book this weekend! (I'm still re-reading Boundaries in Dating, but I don't count that one as it has been read once, and is a relationship tool, not free-reading)

Take Joy!
Phil 1:21

When you lose your feeling

I haven't been blogging much lately, and I'm sorry about that. Actually, I'm not really sorry as it doesn't really affect anyone, but I'm sorry somehow.

I've been busy doing my own things. I haven't run much since my 10k. My time in that race really got me down, and I have had moments of reconsidering my choice of exercise. I'm not quitting, I don't think I could. I am taking a break though. Since we've rolled time back it's now too dark to run after work, and I'm not quite back to running in the morning. My pants aren't happy about it, but they don't get a vote. Fall is a season for layers anyway, so we'll just pretend I'm still fit. :)

I did get the sink installed...almost. It runs water, and drains, so I can brush my teeth in the bathroom again. My plumber has to come back to make some adjustments to the p-trap so we can get the storage drawer in, I need to finish the floor underneath, and thanks to an uneven sub floor I will have to shim the vanity. Awesome, $400 for something that I can't use as is. ...oh to be a renter again.

Halloween came and went. The cuties were feeling better so they came for trick-or-treat goodies at the brick house. Dinner with my faves after, and then (queue creepy music) The Thing. I had never watched it so Halloween is as good a time as any for a gross, scary, jump-out-of-your-skin movie.

Naps during the rain, 2 stepping, food, friends....that's really better than anything.

The dude's birthday is today, so there will be plenty of cake, cookies, chicken, and celebrating. That's a lot of C's.

I still can't upload pictures to my Google account, so we'll just have to use our imaginations again today.

How have all of you been?
Are you keeping up with your fitness goals for the year?

We're in November and it is getting harder to hang in there. Sometimes I feel that with the dawning of a new year so close, we tend to slack the most around this time. Using holiday schedules and food as an excuse.

Sink! Sink! Sink! and keeping up with the Jones'.

Tomorrow is sink day!!!!!!!!!!!!

Here is an update of how far I've gotten with the floor. It's not done, nor is it perfect, but enough is complete to have the sink put in tomorrow. What a great way to end Khaki Thursday tomorrow!!!

Actually, I have a little more done since this picture was taken, but you get the idea. Hey, they don't pay me to blog, so don't nit-pick!

Once it's complete I'll post all pictures so you can see the entire transformation from Ugly to Liveable. (that's my standard these days)

Last night we went to the BCM halloween Monster Mash. Who were we dressed as? The Jones'. The BEST kind of Jones'. Indiana Jones and Dr. Henry Jones. "Docta Jones! Docta Jones!"

What's hotter than Sean Connery and Harrison Ford? Us as Sean Connery and Harrison Ford!

Ok, so that's all for me. I'm really lazy at blogging lately, but you've probably filled the void with comic strips and fortune cookies. Meh, you'll survive.

Thanks all for checking in!

A feeling on a Friday

Sometimes you just have to trust God and go with it.

I'm so thankful for the opportunities I've gotten during my life, good and bad, that have shaped me into the chick that I am. I want to radiate the love of Christ through patience, understanding, and hospitality. I think helping and giving are in my bones. I get so excited when I know of an opportunity to lend a hand, lend a shoulder, lend a room, lend a car, whatever it may be. It's what Jesus did, and what He wants us to WANT to do.

Oh, but my little mind gets in the way. Don't think for a second that it's easy to give out of lack. It may be true that the less fortunate give a higher percentage of themselves than those well-off, but, that doesn't mean that it is done without worry from time to time.

I've tithed BIG amounts, and right before I do, I always worry about that time coming when I'll say "oh, if only I had held on to that money". My stomach knots and my heart races. Then I remind myself that that moment has never come!! Of course I have days where I'm short or go without some convenience, but I've never had a day where I sat in regret for giving.

I've loaned things out; some have been returned and some haven't. I usually agree to it without a second thought, and then I'm stricken with panic for the choice/commitment I've just made. What if I need it? What if it is destroyed? What if they don't appreciate how hard I worked for that? Guess what, I've never lost sleep over helping someone, even if I lost something (of earthly value) in the end.

Where would I be had those before me not given? What if no one helped my parents when they needed it? Would I be where I am had co-workers not helped me get on my feet long ago? If my previous church families, or neighbors, or strangers, hadn't given out of excess and lack, what might I not have now?

Give. Give with fear and without fear. Help. Don't worry, just wing it. Love. Love really does conquer all.

Have a wonderful weekend, filled with joy and life.

10 Planks and a dresser to boot

Bathroom update!!!!!!!

I stayed up late because I couldn't stand it. There was flooring to be installed, who can sleep at a time like that?

Here is (almost) the starting line. I had already pulled some of the linoleum up so I could inspect the sub-floor. The flooring wasn't glued to the sub-floor at all! While that is maddening because it was lazy, it turned out to be a help because I didn't have to scrape. A 'w' is a 'w'.

Yesterday I mentioned that I liked the bare plywood better than the old linoleum. Here it is (with weird, extra long bathmat that I hate). It's ugly, yes. but wood grain really is better than fake stone speckle, don't you think? Upper right corner behind the tub shows all the patchwork done to smooth out the 437 pieces of plywood someone cut to make a square. Sometimes, people....smh.

I started in the squarest corner of the bathroom, so I could get a straight line. I planned to snap a chalk line for certainty, but didn't get my hands on one before my internal timer ran out of patience. I got 10 planks in before I realized I shouldn't attempt to measure/cut/fit flooring around a tub at 11pm. So far the installed flooring looks great. Fingers crossed it adheres to the floor. (I didn't get the primer, so, we'll see)

I stood in the tub with the shower curtain closed enough so that I could only see the part of the floor that was complete. It was perfect! Now I just have to stay focused and complete it.

This will be difficult as I picked up the dresser I plan to use as a buffet. It's in my possession, which means I'll want to get started on it right away so I can not finish that also. (Let's be honest, how many projects have I actually completed?) My favorite part is the column of 4 mini drawers in the center. This reminds me of a card catalog and we know how much I love those. I don't read much, but the thought of organizing little cards in order so that readers can find their book...what a dream.

 Running out of time

In other news, we are fast approaching daylight savings time, (11/1/15). Why do we still do this? We
aren't saving any daylight, we're losing it at the most important time of day, the end! Every year I'm faced with this problem: when will I run? I run in the mornings sometimes, but only 1-2 miles. When will I do my longer run? I HATE the treadmill, the indoor track will likely be crowded, and laying on the couch is nice but not gonna keep my backside in shape. Every year I talk about this, and every year I try the treadmill, and every year I like it for a few days, and every year I quit running until spring. ...what do you think I'll do this year? Help!

Any current home projects?

Do you run in the dark?

Bare floors, big smiles, and doing all the things!!

Bosses day was last Friday and my girls remembered. It made Friday so sweet! They know me well, OU, coffee, and scarves.

Running around, doing all the things

I ran the 10k for Colton's Main Street run. I'm not sure what I was doing, but I did it for 1:16 instead of my planned 58 minutes. Meh, I finished.

The dude smoked me, despite all my prep. He got the sub58 time, although he paid for it in the following days. Thank goodness for Epsom salts. His momma got 1st in her age division, and beat the times of most women under her. I'm glad I'm not competing against her, she's amazing!

Runner friend was literally the LAST 10k-er as she ran the 1 mile fun run with her kiddos first, and then headed out on the route. She had a police escort the entire way.

Running is about enjoyment. If watching the butterflies and making up songs is what you like to do while running, then do it. Don't worry about your time, just be in the moment; all 273,600 of them.

 The never-ending (bathroom) story
So you remember bathroom remodel right? I finally bought flooring! However, since I can't NOT follow instructions, it has to sit for 48 hours to acclimate. Stupid rules. I bought peel and stick faux wood planks at Lowe's. I've seen them used in numerous Pinterest bathroom updates, and decided I'd do the same.

Linoleum is gone, bare subfloors are front and center. I actually prefer the patched, splattered, bare sub-floor over the linoleum I had. That's pretty sad.

They should be fairly simple to install. Some remodel blogs went way over the top on making sure it was perfect, but most just cleaned, primed, and stuck. It's said to be easy to cut so you can get it around existing fixtures and corners. I spent last night dreaming about the toilet and whether or not I'd pull it up to put the tile under it. I think I'll just run it up to the edge, and re-caulk. No need to go total Bob Vila on this place.

Oh! I also bought a dresser for the buffet project! Oh my goodness, we have so many things to do together!

I have a dinner party in the near future and have to get my dining room in order, so that is next. The bathroom HAS to get done so I can move on. It's been a year....I should be about done by now.

I've done so much more that has gone undocumented. I'm at a place where I'm really enjoying life. If I'm running, I'm just cruising along checking out the scenery. If I'm lounging, I'm enjoying the quite. If I'm co-lounging, I'm enjoying the company. Tea til 2am, big meals, long walks, late mornings, lots of laughs, and a few bruises...

What are you enjoying lately? Fall colors? Open windows? Peppermint Mocha coffee creamer?

So many days have passed

Hi friends. If you're here, thank you! I'm very sorry for the delay in updates. My life has been a bit hectic lately, with the naps, and the running, and ....well, the stuff I normally do that you like to hear about!

Sometimes we just get lost in our lives and forget to share. I know, that's 100% ok! You don't mind at all! I want you to know that I WANT to share things with you. That's why I blog! I promise to take very few breaks, and I promise they won't be as long as the 2014 break.

So, here I am. I back!

What have I been up to? Let's do a quick recap, and then we'll sit pretty until tomorrow for the full story.

Bathroom remodel!!!
Reading - sorta

I can't get my pics to sync to my Google account, so I'm having to do it manually. This is holding up production on amazing posts, and also slowing my desire to take pictures.

Come back on TUESDAY!!! for a picture dump of things and stuff. I know, this blog is losing it's mind....

Tuesday, October 13, 2015

I did do all the things!

Whoa! It's Tuesday! Here we are, creeping through another week.

How was your weekend? Were you off work Monday? Or Friday?

I took Monday off. You're welcome everyone. I try to do what I can so that I don't turn off the lights and lock the doors.

Things I did between Friday and Tuesday:

  • Eat
  • Sleep
  • Hike
  • Walk, walk, and walk some more
  • Wash dishes
  • Eat
  • Sit by the campfire
  • Stargaze
  • Sleep
  • Sweat
  • Freeze
  • Eat
  • Sneeze
  • Swim (see 'freeze')
  • Laugh
  • Cry ....not really. Hahaha, but you could expect it from me.
  • Overthink (there it is, there's the me you know)
  • Peel pomegranates
  • Relax

Putting on grown up clothes and sitting behind a desk was a real challenge today. I honestly believe I could walk away from everything and just wander for the rest of my life. I probably can't do it, but I feel like I'd be good at it.

Like usual, I let everyone else take pictures and so I never have any these days. I'm so lazy. It's a good thing I'm not an aspiring photographer.

What did you do over the weekend??

Have you started decorating for fall yet?

Friday, October 09, 2015

F is for Friday!!!

Free BBQ on Friday? Sign me up.

We had lunch at the office, I have really big hair, OU is gonna own the field tomorrow, and I only have a few hours left until I'm free!!!

Despite the rainy forecast, this weekend is all about relaxing. Don't try to get me on my phone. I won't be watching any P&R on my tablet. No football (sad face). Just fresh air and campfires. Maybe I'll go to sleep and not wake up until Monday evening. Ahh....that's the dream.

Ladies group met last night (finally) for week #2 of To Live is Christ, To Die is Gain. What does a mature christian life look like? Well, my answer: I don't know; and that's the point. My life IS maturing in Christ because I'm constantly seeking. None of us have it figured out, so if we're all still
  • searching
  • reaching
  • trying
  • praying
  • retrying
  • dying
  • loving
  • falling
  • failing
  • praying
....then we are, in fact, maturing. So me trying, that's me maturing, and that's a mature christian life...to me.

On with the food and festivities. See you back here Tuesday when we'll do all the things, like running, eating, sleeping, and being generally miserable because we probably forgot our bobby pins or sweatpants! Yay!

....always look for an adultier adult that can adult better than you.

TWPICK Thursday is actually OU/Texas eve eve.

Good day to ya! It's good ol' khaki Thursday and I'm in my seat and jacked up on caffeine.

Today I took my #IDriveFor picture at the office. I drive for Janice, a previous co-worker, and almost
birthday twin. She fought and beat cancer because she is totally amazing. While there has been buzz about the Susan G. Komen foundation not donating the majority of their money to research, the attention alone has saved numerous lives. I know more about breast cancer now since it became a 'trending topic' than I learned organically in the years prior. So donate, celebrate, participate...just help beat it! (singing MJ right there)

I am forming a very close relationship with my foam roller. I told the dude that if it starts telling me I'm pretty, he might have some serious competition.

Run Report

Another 4 miles last night.

Mile 1: 12:20
Mile 2: 12:01 (negative!)
Mile 3: 12:39.....
Mile 4: 12:12 (negative!!)

I ran with runner friend. She hasn't run in a few months so we stopped a few times for stretching and shoe adjustments. Those things are super important when you're trying to get back at it. If you ignore things or run uncomfortable, you likely won't go again.

We had the running mascot along for the duration as well. I wish I knew who owned this guy so I could make sure they keep him safe. He's great at dodging traffic and keeping other strays away, but it's still unsafe for him to run the entire town like this.

Thursday, 5am

Mile 1: 11:26
Mile 2: 10:38 (negative AND in the 10s).
(mascot was along for the 2 miles, what a cool dog)

This is proof that running with a faster partner will improve your speed, and you can do it.

No running tonight. I (may) have ladies group, and I have some baking to do.

I hope you had a great run/workout/nap/ice cream sandwich. Do what you want, as long as you're happy!

Someone watch the OU/Texas "game" for me on Saturday, and update me on how amazing we are the entire time. This is the 1st year in a long time that I won't be there. My football heart is sad and deflated like a football from New England.... :) heehee.  I'll survive. I have awesome stuff on the agenda. At least I get to wear my colors to work tomorrow. OU or No You!

See you soon!

Free-zza is a bad idea

Ugh, hey all. Take my advice, don't eat a ton of pizza just because it is free. You will pay in other ways. Blarch....

On with Wednesday! My neighbor cancelled today because of illness, so I slept in. That was terrible. We won't talk about that.

Tonight I will be running 4-5 miles with (long lost) runner friend. I should have some mile splits and feelings for you tomorrow. If we don't run, you know I'll at least have some feelings for you. ...don't I always?

Today I get to pick up some prints at Walgreen's. Real photos! I love printing pictures. We have gotten so accustomed to having them all at our digital-loving fingertips that we forget we can have them for real. I did not ask permission of the other people in the pictures, so, they'll just have to deal with it. :) Prell, fave, ma, broseph, SIL, and nephew, get over it.

I have a camping trip this weekend that I am preparing for. I'm sure I'll eat way too much food and be miserable. So stay tuned for that. Also, it's the Red River Rivalry this weekend, which I won't be attending NOR will I have access to watch it. Love...it makes you do strange things.

Ok, then. Come back tomorrow for stuff!

Tuesday, October 06, 2015

Doing all the running things.

Today, lets talk about running.

Friday night. 4 miles.  49:26 with one negative split.

Monday night. 4 miles. 47:40 with one negative split.

Faster than Friday.

Tuesday morning. 2 miles. 22:32 with a major negative split.

Running with someone that has a faster pace helps....Thanks A. You rock.

 Thoughts while running last night:

Oh man, I'm totally going to rock this.
Just start out slow, that way you can have negative splits.
Negative splits...isn't that also a yoga thing? Hmm.
Ok, here I go, good pace.
My feet are heavy.
Did I put chaffing gel on my arch?
Get a drink.
Am I bouncing too much?
I hate this shirt.
Running, running, running, whoa uneven pavement!
Uphill, awesome. Lean forward.
Am I leaning too far forward? Do I need to lean back on the downhill? Are my feet thudding?
Tra-lah-lah, tra-lah-lah. CAR!!!
Is that a runner? No, she's walking. Is that guy on the bike bothering her? Well, he's ahead of me, so I'm safe.
Crap, hole! Stupid lack of sidewalks.
Is that a smashed pinecone, or a smashed squirrel? Gross.
Why are there so many cigarette lighters on the ground? Do people really just throw them out the window?
I wonder if any of those cigarette packs have cash in the wrappers....
Would stopping to check each one be a good excuse to stop running?
I should stop running. This is stupid.
How far have I gone? I haven't heard my app tell me my mile time yet.
Have I not even gone a mile?!!? I should stop n.. **one mile complete. time: blahblah**  Ok, good.
Wait, that was only ONE MILE?! Oh goodness. I'm slow AND tired.
It's ok, I like running. Look at my fancy running stuff.
What if I drink all my water before I get done? Drink!
Can I lay down in public?
2 miles, alright, hitting my stride.
Running, running, slowly running.
I should read more. Nah...I should really buckle down on my French lessons.
Do I want to work on the bathroom when I get home?
Am I having a heart attack? Oh look! There's someone I know! ~waves~ They didn't wave. :(
How far is 4 miles?! I should just run 1 mile each day. I could rule the mile. Queen of the mile. hahahahahahahahahahahaha. That's funny. Can that be a halloween costume? I'm so clever.
I wonder if I only focused on the mile, if I could ever get in the 6s....
Oooh, almost twisted my ankle. If I do, I wonder if I can lay down...
Did my GPS turn off? Hasn't it been thr **3 miles complete. time: blahblahblah** Ok, I thought so.
Only 1 mile left, turn it up Leah!
Turn it down Leah!
I don't want to shower when I get back. I'm too tired.
What if I want to interact with people....they'll just have to accept me.
Whoa! Was that lightning? No, it's daylight.
I should really keep going at 4 miles. I know I can run further today. I feel great!!!
Tra-lah-lah, tra-lah-lah, jump on the curb! CAR! "get off your cellphone moron!"
I'm going to Facebook about people driving while on their phones.....yikes, don't run into that mailbox! I should get off of my phone.
I hate this music, why can't I find music I like to run to?
Drink. Drink. Drink. When did I last wash this mouthpiece?
I've never lost a toenail running. Am I superhuman?
I think I'll go around the block at least a few times after my 4 mi**4miles complete. time: blahdyblahblah** Thank GOODNESS! I quit forever!!!!

Walking home: I love running. I bet I can get 2 or 3 miles in before work tomorrow.

Running. We love it. We hate it. We do it.

TWPICK Thursday, and where has the time gone?

Salut! So sorry for my hiatus, friends. I didn't mean to leave you hanging. I don't have pictures yet from last weekend, and another event is creeping up.

I promise to post them eventually, maybe, if I think about it.

This weekend I have 5 reminders of events on my phone, and I can't attend them all. The problem with having a lot of people you love, that love you and want you around, is that you don't have time for them all AND if you cram as much in as possible, you end up with no free time on the weekend. 1st world probs.

Running in circles

I intended to run last night, but then I didn't so.... I did lay on the foam roller to stretch my back and listened to my French language app while doing so.

I should get a few miles in tomorrow morning, and get back to running early next week. Maybe.
 High price or low quality

I went shopping recently and was disappointed to find what $30 buys. If I was buying just Totino's pizzas I could have brought home 20 pizzas. But since I (try to) shop healthy, this is what I got:

It's sad that it is cheaper to be unhealthy right now. Later in life it won't be, when the chemicals and additives catch up to you. But for now, it's cheaper.

1st world probs.
Between you, me, and the 'french' post:

I mentioned that I was listening to my French language app. I learned French in high school because I am a bit French-Canadian. However, I had no one to practice with and over time I lost my ability. I have a friend that is trying it with me, so hopefully we'll make major progress.

Stay tuned for possible pop-up posts in French! Au revoir!

No, yes, and maybe

Good Monday morning all! I see we are all a little droopy eyed today. Mondays are the worst way to start a week. But look at it this way, we're closer to the weekend!

Quick weekend recap:

Running: No. I didn't do any exercise.

Sleeping in: Yes, I did do some of that.

Maybe: there are lots of those, we won't even begin to peel that onion.

I was busy with shoe shopping, hair playing, cleaning, gown wearing, laughing, friend making, cuddling, exploring, and generally doing things that make me smile.

I was blessed Saturday night (and again Sunday) to finally spend some time getting to know a very wonderful, very kind and loving, very important person. He was integral to my life, before I knew it. God showed me where He had been working long before I came up with my "plan". I'm smiling just thinking about how wonderful this new friendship is.

Tomorrow morning should be run-filled (harhar), and then on to work. Our 10k is quickly approaching and I am quickly dismissing my real need for training.

I have GOT to get focused. But Friends is so fun to watch, and the couch is so comfy, and...in my head I sound like Tom on P&R singing the 'My Boo' song he wrote for Ann.

I have my first porch pumpkin of the season. Cantaloupe #2 is about ready to be picked. The growkra is still going nuts. I also have more banana peppers than I can count.

Come back tomorrow, I may have pictures!

Is it really Friday? Team building Thursday.

Oh what fun it is....to jump off of a 30ft pole on Khaki Thursday.

Yesterday was just a regular ole day, you know, traipsing through the woods, building fake bridges, carrying strangers through pretend spiderwebs, and doing trust falls. What? Just a day at the office.

Well, I wish that was my 'office'. I'd do it every day if I could.

Our area Leadership team went to a team building day at a local camp, and it was F.U.N. I see why the past members have said that you make life-long friends in this class. I feel like I am. Since I'm not from 'round these parts, I've struggled to make deep connections with people as friends. Yesterday felt like a turning point for me.

Runners form bonds on the streets. Church group members form bonds through Scripture. BF/GFs form bonds of the heart. But in professional situations, it's difficult to really connect with people that you may only see once a month, or only communicate across town via phone or email.

I'm thankful for the opportunity, and excited for what may come of it.

Sweaty, grimy hugs to everyone on my team!

Have a great weekend everyone! I'll be all dolled up tomorrow night, so I hope someone takes a picture of me so you can all be super jelly of my amazing-ness.

Ankles crossed that I get a few miles in this weekend too!
