I deleted Facebook. Again. May 2018 I decided to quit Facebook. I sat in my OB/GYNs office discussing anxiety and worry and all the other issues that a mid-30s gal might face at that time. At some point I said '...and then I see all the news, real and fake on Facebook and I just get bogged down'. I had said many things before that, but to that she said 'You know you can quit Facebook if you want.' Of course I knew that. Didn't I? I had thought about it. I had considered it, maybe. Did I know I could actually do it?...... So I did. Well, I deactivated it. Same thing, no one could find me. I did have a business profile though, I kept that to manage a small public service that I provided and the page was used for scheduling and announcements. No friends. I didn't follow anyone.  For 8 years that business profile has stood alone. I no longer use it, I no longer provide my service, but I still had the page. I joined a local PSA group for road closures and ribbon cut...

Back?  Not really. At least I don't think so. Who has time for a comeback? We all want a comeback, but how? When? And why? Of course I've had plenty of great conversations in my head (and out loud with my steering wheel) over the years but those float off into space and only the Heavens here me. No one is recording, no notes. How would I recreate those here for your enjoyment?  Sorry to tell you, I can't.  I could try to put pen to paper, if you will. here as they come up, but I'm not available that much.  Do you work full-time? Do you have family? Did you go back to college? Do you like to sleep? Me too. That leaves little time for blogging.  I did find myself reminiscing today though, on a Thursday no less. Shouldn't it be Khaki Thursday? Or TWPICK Thursday? Or even TOWPICK Thursday? It could be. It's actually TPPIOK Thursday I guess. (those pink pants instead of khaki). I can't even find a good pair of khaki pants anymore. That's a rant for another d...

Friday, you're fired! I'm lazy. What to do this weekend?

Image
Friday is a hair puller so far. I just looked up and it's already after 12! That is good, but where did my morning go? I didn't make it to the track again. Neighbor had a headache and I wasn't arguing with my pillow about getting up and going alone. Heck. No.  I slept. After not getting enough sleep Wednesday night, I wasn't passing on an extra 2 hours today. ________________________________________________________________________ Stuff to do? Most of my family is on vacation in Indiana so my dad is home alone. Earlier in the week I thought I'd be driving to that part of the state, but that changed. Poor dad. I don't have any plans, but I really need to open the windows and dust the house. Maybe he'll come visit and can help me clean. Hahahaha. Oh, so speaking of the house, I need to pick out a new sink for the bathroom. That should go on my 'to do' list. Co-garden got a hair cut last night. It looks SOOOO much better. I'm not...

I'm baaaaaaack!!!

Image
Oh blog friends, how are you?? I'm a little more tan, a little more tired, and a little more tense. Back to reality, but back to the good part of reality. I went to Florida last week, in case you didn't know. I stayed with my sister, nephew, and niece. I ran some, I slept some, I swam some, and I ate some. I'll share all the deets with you tomorrow, ugh, I just used 'deets', I hate that. I have some pictures to share also. For today lets just take a moment of silence for our loss of freedom because we had to come back to work...... Ok! The 2 best, best, best parts of the whole trip were seeing Prell in Florida, and the dude came home. Getting away from it all is much better when some of it is still around. I had a fantastic time with my 'home' gal on vacation, and a fantastic time coming home to see my fave. Thanks for checking back today. I hope you weren't too disappointed that I wasn't around a lot last week. Even part-time bloggers ...

Taco Tuesday, and doing all the things!

Image
I don't feel like having tacos today. Blah. What's wrong with me? What I feel like is running. Runnin' runnin' and runnin' runnin'.... I have to be in a swimsuit really soon and I don't feel ready. Tacos surely won't help either. Last night I had a sweet nap, a baked sweet potato (over sweet conversation with some of my favorite sweet people), a sweet soak in a lavender bath, and a sweet bedtime. Ahhhhhh..... I made it to the gym this morning before dawn for official week 2 of crazy workout. Pushups, lay down pushups, medicine ball squats, tricep dips, mountain climbers, bicycles, straight leg situps w/twist, and straight leg situps. It didn't seem all that difficult, and I did modify a tiny bit to keep from bending my toe ( you know, the SUP incident ), but man did we sweat! Our muscles just didn't seem to want to do anything. I haven't felt that worthless and lazy in a while....it was awesome!!!! _____________________________________...

Okie stuff, caught in the Act, and doing all the things!!

Image
So, we picked a spot for my Okie swag to hang. Bam! He told me to look like I was having fun in the picture. Not sure what it looks like I'm doing, other than being a poor dresser... I'm guessing he doesn't like me for my after-work fashion sense. I either have professional duds, or running wear. This...this is something. But look at that Okie schwaaag! Thanks dude! __________________________________________________________________________ Back to the Act  Reading on in Acts 16, Paul and Silas traveled where the Holy Spirit led them. They were beaten and imprisoned for preaching the Word of God. (How many people have been beaten and imprisoned so far? I've lost count!) While in prison they prayed and sang hymns, and God opened the doors and released the shackles from their feet. However, they did not run out to freedom. They remained, as they should, and had the opportunity to convert the jailer! How awesome is that?! Afterwards, they were released with...

Floods, faking it, and Fridays

Image
Are you as sick of the flooding as we are?? No? Alright! I'll talk about it more. Yesterday was dry most of the day, but Friday has brought more rain. Driving over the lake bridge was eerie. The water level last night was just shy of 6ft below the bridge. We are forecast to receive rain through Wednesday. Our dam was wide open yesterday, and still very close to the edge. Our own little Niagara. (photos courtesy of my ATSneighbor. Ok, I didn't ask for permission, but he had them on FB, and I'm mentioning it here. Please don't sue me, I'm poor.) __________________________________________________________________________ Ananias and Sapphira Oh, this story is so wicked scary. This couple thought they were just trying to protect themselves. They sold their property with plans to give the money to the mass following Peter, but they wanted to keep a little back for themselves. That doesn't seem so strange. A little selfish, but a safety net...

Busy week?... and doing all the things! (obviously)

Image
Ah Tuesday. Not Monday anymore, but not quite the end of Friday.  (that was a stretch, I know)  I don't have a lot of meat for this post this week. The last 7 days were all about the prep for last weekend. Now I'm trying to look forward toward new plans. ~ I've got a full agenda this week with a doctor appointment, a dentist appointment, a concert, and a trip to see my parents. Hopefully I'll also get to pop in to see some oldies but goodies while in town Saturday morning. There is a 3 year old birthday party Saturday afternoon for his cutey, cutey nephew. Plus, it's the weekend!! So many good things can happen; such as food, naps, sunshine, and stuff.   ~ Concert!!!!! We're going to see Need To Breathe. This makes me so happy. You don't even know. It's going to be awesome. I promise to tell you all about it. I could list all of their songs that speak right to me, but I'd basically just be listing most of their discography. Check them out...

Khaki Thursday

Image
It's Khaki Thursday everyone! We made it another week. Time to look back and reminisce, relax, and re-enjoy! Run love! Out where the crickets chirp. Rinsed that rig off. Not a total Betty, but a vast improvement. You never know where it might lead

Long time draft about a house, incomplete work. Grade: F++

This post has been a draft for a month now. I have been holding out to add pics of the house. I still haven't taken pics of the house. So, here ya go. I'll do better next time. :) June 13th : We closed! I bought a house before hitting the old   dirty awesome age of 30. I tried to move in that night, but alas, the a/c wasn't working. 100 degrees and 90% humidity...uh, no thanks. I stayed at the rent house until Sunday, and then hoofed it to the hot house. Blah! I slept in the dining room with a little a/c until Wednesday, only to find out that the repair guy had fixed the a/c Sunday, but didn't know it. Super fabulous. I'm so over my allergies. During the sweatfest I opened the windows upstairs to cool it off so that I could shower in the upstairs bathroom. Due to a nice summer wind storm, I now have a broken storm window laying on the roof. Ah...ownership. Awesome. (read: not!) All is well with the world now though. Air conditioned, window removed, but no...
