Doing all the things Tuesday

Oh, how exciting a new, or renewed, journey can be! We've talked about it. We've procrastinated. We've made excuses. We've overslept, and laid on the couch.

We. Are. Ready.

It's yoga time!

See how far I have fallen. Watch how far I will rise.

Flexibility is at an all time low. This is good though, it works as motivation. I'm teaming up with Yoga by Candace on her 31 day challenge. I've restarted the November challenge she issued, but she is starting a new challenge per her Instagram today. Eep! I chose Ardha Baddha Paschimottanasana, or, half bound lotus west extension for us Okies.

Eats
Last night was double date night! We went with a couple that he knows semi-well, and I was excited to get to know better. How do adults get to know one another? Well, burgers, fries, and laser tag, DUH! I lasered so many kids.... It was a laser-cre. Mwahahaha!

Jalapeno baja burger and rosemaryEVOO fries from SmashBurger gave us fuel, and we later wound down with a few arcade games and free soda at the casino. Ya know, adults have to be thrifty too.

 Wearable

the Limited provided a nice sweater selection this year. Today's wearable is my new fave. I have stayed away from long, free-flowing shirts for a while, as I feel they make me look overweight and/or preggo. Meh, I've stopped caring about that idea. Mmmmm....asymmetrical buttons, so wonderful.

STUFF!!




 Santa (aka, runningCurl) made a splash with my family this year. All the nieces and the one nephew (of my OK fam) got many, many autie gifts. A few other select members received tokens of my thoughts.

Splash is accurate. Did you see how much rain NEOK got? When they say 'take the high road' they really mean it around there.








I found this lavender infused soda at Eatzies. Um...yes please. More!!















Accurate weather map for NEOK on Dec 26 - 27. 78 degrees, then a few tornadoes, flooding, 40 degrees with 60mph wind, then 26 degrees with sleet, and finally, 2 earthquakes on Tuesday. Some people really do have it all.....

That Dam 5k

I found out yesterday that there is a 5k coming up in my area. The 'That Dam Lake Texoma 5k" is on 11/17. I feel like physically I am prepared for it, but gear-ly I am not. I still haven't bit it and bought new shoes. I won't need special shorts, shirts, socks, belts, sleeves, hats, etc. as a 5k doesn't require much fanciness. I need shoes, but first, I need the funds. Le sigh. This isn't a cry out for money, it's more like a cry out for someone to convince me to spend my money. I haven't spent that much on a pair of shoes in years. I became a frugal fanatic and push all belongings to the limit. Help! Last night I was back on the 'mill. Not defeated quite as early, but about 1.7 miles in I hit my wall. How silly! I pushed pushed pushed, and made it to 3.1 in just under 39 mins. S       L        O      W. I need to stop being so hard on myself, but if I'm not, how will I get better?! Race Recap

You may have seen my mini post on Saturday about my dismal race. I do hate being negative, but I was really unhappy with my performance. The breathing problems, the stumbling, the walking, the dramatics....I was a total mess. Today I want to show you all the awesome stuff leading up to the race! Muscle time!!! Making shirts for the race. Team 'Run Free: peace.love.run' in the house! Gear ready for the race. Nike tennis skirt (bad choice by the way. Rides all up in the wrong places), team shirt (Wal-mart), Brooks Ravenna 4.  (not pictured, SPI-belt)  We were so ready to go!! All smiles. M ran the race pushing her daughter, and not in a little jogging stroller, but in the fully enclosed bike trailer/stroller! And she beat me! Grrr. She was awesome! She said she was a little stoked that she beat me too. She should be. We aren't racing each other, but a W is a W. Made a shirt for her little girl. This is the back. Awwww.  Barking dogs afterwar

5k,ka,ka,kaput....

Today i gave an effort. Not good. Not bad. Just, an. I'm pretty sure I've developed adult asthma based on the near black-out 50yd before the finish line. I PR'd but that isn't saying much: still +35min. Yeowza. I'm not a marathoner, yet. I don't compete with others, only myself. I let God carry me. I feel I'm doing all the right things, I'm just not there yet. That's ok. But disappointing nonetheless. You know. Happy running today. Good luck Ragnar/SoCal girls, and everyone around the globe.
