That Curl can RUN!

I scooted to work today because it was 68 degrees when I woke up. I didn't know it could be that cold out! I'm so excited. Don't be fooled though, it will reach mid-upper 90s by days end, but the cooler mornings are such a relief. I overslept today. I went to bed at 9:22 last night, and after a few nighty-night texts I drifted off. I thought I was so responsible to get to bed on time so I could run like the wind this morning. At 6am I woke to my mom texting me.... which means I slept through my track alarm, and my neighbors "are you coming" text, and my neighbors phone call. She was probably standing in the driveway all suited up, all alone, and I was just sleeping away. I'm horrible. Now I'll have to make that up on Saturday. Boooo. Oh, I made cold brew last night. I hate making it with the soak method because you have to filter it and that takes FOREVER. It wasn't even that good. I must've mis-measured and it was too weak. Blah. ____________...

I LOVE this. I can just imagine Paul spinning on his heel to look Festus in the eye, and with a steely stare, boldly proclaiming "I am not out of my mind". Believers are often seen as weak for leaning on an invisible creator. Some say we simply are unwilling to face life because we trust that all things come from God with a purpose. We are seen as 'out of our minds'. Crippled, crazy, weak, and confused. Paul didn't believe that, and he didn't fear their lack of faith. He knew God was with him, in him, and for him. He didn't care whether or not they believed him, he was going to speak the truth, and stand his ground. Back to tradition. It's TWPICK Thursday, and you know what the means....tomorrow is Friday!!!! I didn't make to to R4G last night, nor did I go workout this morning. I'm going tomorrow morning though, so stop judging me. My track partner is on vaca so I scheduled workout #2 for Friday this week. I've covered Acts 21-23 this week, and am not near the end of Paul's imprisonment/trial. Geez, those people really wanted to hate him. They didn't have a reason, but they weren't giving up. Paul remained transparent, not denying his past nor his present. He openly admitted to killing Christians, but wholeheartedly admitted to serving Christ. Through threats of beatings, whippings, and years of imprisonment he remained steadfast in his belief, and knew that the God of man would deliver him;...

This is a good lesson for today, since President Obama is in my little town. Right now he is about 1.5 miles from me, speaking to an invited 'public' group about economic impact, government involvement in the growth of small communities, and I'm sure a bunch of other things I have no information on. Whether or not we agree with him, whether or not we support him, he is in a position of influence. His policies influence us directly (our laws) and indirectly (international relations). We don't have to agree with what happens, but burying our heads...

I like discovering that other people celebrate taco Tuesday like I do! In the olden days M and I would make fish tacos, but recently we've been busy or forgetful, and we've been doing our own thing. I try to taco every Tuesday though. Last night we went to a-place-I-can't-remember-the-actual-name-of-but-he-calls-it-9th-Street-Tacos. Sounds like a good name to me. They had what I call 'street tacos', the kind you'd get from a taco truck. Double layer white corn tortilla, meat, onions, and cilantro. Just squeeze a lime and add some avocado. Wednesday is one of my favorite days. It doesn't compare to Saturday or Sunday, or my birthday, or Memorial Day, July 4th, or Labor Day, ...or Thanksgiving and Christmas...and let's not forget New Year's Eve. But, of the normal days of the week, it is my 3rd favorite, and my favorite day starting with a W. I made it home from the office around 7:45 last night and went into my drool coma again. So fantastic. Naps rule. ________________________________________________________________________ No make-up for water project I was added to a (thankfully) 'secret' group on Facebook that has challenged all members to drink at least 1 gallon of water per day for 30 days. I drink about 2/3 that on a normal basis, so it shouldn't be too difficult, but I have days when I only get 8-16oz of water, usually the weekends.
